In May 2017, U.S. based journalist Levi Dalton joined us for a few days at Château La Fleur-Pétrus in Pomerol to record an interview for his podcast, “I’ll drink to that”. We were honored that he travelled all the way from New York City to discover the vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, exchange with our winemaking team, and, of course, taste a few wines.
In the interview, Christian Moueix recounts his Napa Valley débuts in the 70s and 80s, chronicles his first experiments green harvesting the 1973 vintage in Pomerol, and explains how the quest for an elusive ‘perfect’ wine continues to guide his viticulture and winemaking approach in Bordeaux and California.
