Clos la Madeleine: the Latest Addition to Domaines Jean-Pierre Moueix

We are pleased to inform you that, on September 25th 2017, we finalized the acquisition of Clos la Madeleine, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, and Château Magnan la Gaffelière, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Located on the central limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, surrounded by the vineyard of Château Bélair-Monange, Clos la Madeleine possesses a terroir of great quality which we look forward to revealing over the coming years. The 2017 harvest took place on September 28th and 29th under sunny, warm skies.

Château Magnan la Gaffelière is located on predominantly sand and clay based parcels in the western sector of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. Sadly, most of the vineyard suffered from the spring’s terrible frost. Consequently, we are still evaluating the 2017 harvest’s potential.

Clos la Madeleine and Château Magnan la Gaffelière will maintain their identity and specificities among the Jean-Pierre Moueix vineyards, alongside Château Bélair-Monange, 1° Grand Cru Classé, in Saint-Émilion, and, in Pomerol, Châteaux Trotanoy, La Fleur-Pétrus, Hosanna, Latour à Pomerol, La Grave, Lafleur-Gazin and Lagrange. Our technical teams are working closely with the Clos la Madeleine staff in order to ensure a smooth transition.

All inquiries concerning Clos la Madeleine and Magnan la Gaffelière should now be directed to the main Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix offices.
